Playa Delfines sits at the southern end of the Hotel Zone, and it's the beach most locals point visitors toward when they ask for the best free option. No resort wall blocks access, and the sand has generally held up better here than on some more built-up stretches.
Why it stands out
It's wide, it's public, and it's home to the large "CANCUN" letter sign that shows up in half the photos from anyone's trip. Lifeguards are typically present, and there are basic facilities (parking, some food vendors) but nothing resort-level — bring your own shade.

Waves here can be stronger than the calmer, lagoon-facing beaches further north, and rip currents are a real risk on certain days — always check the flag system and swim within the marked area.
